Data Policy

  • Reproducibility: All code, analysis scripts, parameter files, and documentation should be organized such that another group member can reproduce key results with reasonable effort.

  • Version control: Code repositories must be managed with git. Commits should contain meaningful commit messages. Standard good practices for git workflows should be followed.

  • Backup: Important research data should be backed up. Anything on Cassowary is automatically backed up. Data on compute clusters is not backed up, and important data should be backed up manually.

  • Archiving: data associated with a publication must be archived and accessible for 10 years. This includes the exact version of the code, parameter files, analysis scripts, and calculation data.
