Authorship Policy
Criteria for authorship: a substantial intellectual contribution to a research project. The following are examples, though how much contribution qualifies for authorship is still somewhat subjective.
Developing the scientific idea of conceptual framework
Performing substantial calculations
Designing, implementing, or substantially contributing to code or simulations
Analyzing or interpreting results
Writing significant portions of the manuscript
Providing revisions that significantly improve the scientific content
Expectations of authors
Participate in final review of all sections of the manuscript
Be responsible for the results and conclusions, including parts they did not write.
Assist in responding to referee reports.
Lead author coordinates writing and submitting manuscript, maintaining version control, and communicating with co-authors.
Author ordering
Authors with the largest contribution are first.
Equally contributing authors are listed alphabetically.
The author list/order should be discussed early in the collaboration, not only right before submission.
